Post board exam hang over

My friend opened their Shawarma Bros restaurant where the food is just amazingly good.

It was also the night before his birthday.

I have been waking up early to do 6:30am yoga (and another yoga class at 6:30pm) because my class cards are expiring due to the fact that I haven't used my class cards ever since board reviews started.

Been hanging out with these new shiny happy people.

And also still spending time with my former students and welcoming the freshmen scholars.

Trying to catch up reading books.

Participating in area wide earth quake drill.

Playing this song 50x a day.

Watching Movies at iFlix.

Yep. I've been pretty much really busy these days... I have a few weeks before first term of academic year 2015-2016 begins. I have to mentally prepare myself for thesis. *gasp* I prolly can't finish it in one term anymore considering I didn't do it during special term (of course because of board exam reviews).

But for real I should graduate already next year. FOR REAL.

Books to watch out for

Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make The Leap .. And Others Don't

Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die

The worst is over.

It's over.

Board exams are now over. And now all I can do is pray.

And maybe relax a few days and watch a movie...

Need to give myself some chill time.

Disoriented

So the board exams are a few days away and I'm getting disoriented because I don't know where to start or continue with my reviews.

I'm panicking and I just don't know what to do first.

Do I write my articles for my freelance (but I did that yesterday).

Do I procrastinate (been doing it the whole morning and I end up discovering things I'm better off not knowing).

Do I read the code of ethics for psychologists, read statistics, read on psychometric assessments. YES.

I guess I just really need to specify what I need to do because in reality I can't study everything anymore with such short span of time. So I'll just study what I can and where I feel I still need to work on.

1) Code of Ethics
2) Statistics
3) Psychological Assessment

And to buy things I need for my board exam.

I'm so afraid. I've never felt this fear in many times I have taken exams.

On another note here are some photos of what has been happening this week.

DLSU freshmen scholars orientation. I will be present in that!

Had to depend on Spotify to give me the confidence I need for board exam. Desperate times. Desperate measures.

Just trying to breeze through them and hoping that Atleast 10% of what I read would stay in my short term memory. I wish I had the talent and gift for having a photographic memory.

Well, I'm off to publish this post now and to ignore my social networks because they are irrelevant matters.

Lots and St. Jude please guide me.

Wise Words.

I have always been inspired by articles and books and speeches and quotes that talk about following your passion. It might be ideal for most people, but those who do not believe in the passion route are those who gave up too soon. They couldn't testify and they can't agree with the idea of following your passion because they ended up doing things that they are not passionate about. Maybe call it cynicism or jealousy, whatever it is... I still believe in following what you are passionate about.

And I can truly testify, once you find your place it will be the best feeling in the world.
Probably close to feeling in love or probably better than feeling in love, because all you will feel is euphoria.

"There’s a common misconception that work is necessary. You will meet people working at miserable jobs. They tell you they are “making a living”. No, they’re not. They’re dying, frittering away their fast-extinguishing lives doing things which are, at best, meaningless and, at worst, harmful."

Source: Don't work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

Know your passion and follow it. You never have to work for the rest of your life.

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”
- Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

"Lots of people, of course, dream of chucking their current job for something else. But dreaming is all they do. They then wait for the fates to hand them the perfect job.

It won't work, though, because they aren't out shaking the trees. In fact, they're not even in the orchard. They're effectively waiting for the fruit to fall on its own -- and for a brisk wind to blow the fruit across the fields and over the fence and to place it gently in their lap."

I am actually proud to say that I have found my purpose.
It happens. It is real. You just have to trust yourself and be patient.
Of course, you also have to work for it, you have to shake trees and most importantly don't give up.

Freelance, Home-based and Online Jobs

Follow the passion route.

No person in this world, who knows me very well (or even first impression), will deny that I'm a talkative person. I always have something to say and I always have something to think about, which is why I have resorted to my outlet and that is through writing.

I've always loved to write, ever since I was in elementary. Albeit my handwriting really sucks, I'm a fast typist. I type so fast sometimes that my hand types faster than I can speak. And it's the reason why I have been blogging and have had a lot of blogs in this lifetime.

I have recently joined two sites where I can look for remote jobs and have been mostly looking into those who need some writing content. I have always wanted to do freelance and online jobs. I remember in college, I was already looking for a job opportunity to practice and enhance my writing skills. I also remember that the job opportunity I found was writing "academic" articles. Turns out, these articles are homework of students and these students "order" these homeworks online. And we are the "academic writers" SHEESH.

lol. I never got to pursue the gig, however. But the owner of the business became a friend of mine. He eventually stopped his online business and built a preschool.

The two websites I found that can provide remote work opportunities for Filipinos are:

OnlineJobs.Ph isn't updated anymore as most job opportunities are in 2010. I like the platform of Outsourcely better, aside from onlinejobs.ph asking so many information before you can create a profile!

I then shared the Outsourcely to my scholars because I know they're all looking for part-time and home-based jobs, considering we have a 4-month vacation before school year begins (academic calendar shift).

I also mentioned it to them that we have an advantage since we are students of De La Salle University. Apparently, in the "Beginner's Guide to Outsourcing to the Philippines" article, our University was highly commendable.

Just hoping the employers read that guide!!

In Outsourcely, I am actually a featured Job Seeker.

Yep! No. 1 in the employee list under Communication & Writing.

And for OnlineJobs.Ph, here's my profile badge!

Follow the Passion route.

I have been so happy recently because after many years, things are finally falling into the right track.

Both E-learning & Writing are my passion.

Love what you do and you will never have to work in your life.

On a side note, I recently had a job interview (another potential playground) which requires my creative talent. I remember asking them about their work space.

I told them that I had to ask that question because it matters. If they want creative output, you have to let the mind play. The work environment should be consistent and supportive if you want creative output from creative people like us. =)

Turns out, they're getting me. But I'm not going to spoil it here yet. I've been thinking about blogging about it. But I want to keep it a secret from the public for now. ;)
